We Are Club Tome
I just want to brag about my 18 fourth and fifth grade Club Tome members. They have worked hard all year to represent our club and school at Tomecon. Tomecon is an annual literacy conference for students. One aspect of the conference is to announce the winners of the Tome literacy projects that have been submitted throughout the school year. This was our first year participating in Tome Society and it has been a learning curve, but we embraced it with open arms and had tremendous success. Club members submitted projects in several competitions. I am proud to announce we brought back several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place certificates, and we even won second place as Chapter of the Year! We were in total shock! One of my club members jokingly said, “Do they give an award for getting the most awards?” We all laughed because we were giddy with excitement for each other’s accomplishments. We felt like we were on the Price is Right running up the aisle to get our well-earned certificates. What a great day!

If you’re not familiar with Tome Society, check them out at tomesociety.org. Tome Society is not just about reading books and testing on them, but reflecting on books by drawing, writing, speaking, or using technology. Being a part of this organization has truly been a rewarding program.
